What types of foam and internal frame structures is the system compatible with?

MemorX ISD® features a universal design. It is fully compatible with R, HR, and standard cold-cure foams. Thanks to its flexible mounting points, it can be integrated into wooden and metal frame structures using sinuous (Nosag) springs, webbing, or plywood bases.

How does the system withstand concentrated loads? What happens if it is punctured?

The air-cushion core is made from multi-layer, fiber-reinforced TPU, making it highly resistant even under heavy loads. However, if the system is subjected to extreme mechanical damage through the upholstery, such as intentional puncturing, the cushion will lose its original functionality and must be replaced.

Does the air cushion lose pressure over time?

No. The innovative ISD valve technology and hermetically sealed connections ensure zero leakage. Based on our laboratory testing, the system maintains its internal pressure even after more than 40,000 load cycles, requiring no maintenance.

How can the valve be discreetly integrated into the furniture design?

The control valve is made of plastic and integrated directly into the cushion, allowing it to be discreetly positioned beneath the furniture upholstery. It is most commonly placed between the armrest and the seat, on the inner side of the armrest, integrated into the sofa’s side panel, or positioned in the gap between the seats.

If the valve can only be positioned on the outside of the armrest, a specially designed trim ring neatly covers and finishes the cut edge of the upholstery, ensuring a clean, premium appearance.

Do you provide technical support for the development of the first prototype?

Yes. We provide our partners with free DWG and CAD files to support the design process. In addition, our engineering team supports your product developers throughout the prototype development phase with technical consultation, installation templates, and physical test modules.
